[00:00:00] Speaker A: Yo Gen Z, Riley Hot here your favorite self proclaimed self care guru Dropping truth bombs Hotter than a TikTok trend.
We're diving deep into that messy, beautiful, sometimes terrifying world of thoughts and emotions.
Ever feel like your brain is running a 24. 7 news cycle of existential dread mixed with FOMO? You know, the usual let's face it, figuring out this whole being human thing is hard enough without our minds throwing shade on us every other minute.
But here is the Understanding and managing your thoughts and emotions isn't just for those zen living and style influencers.
It's essential if you wanna actually live your best life, not just scroll through someone else's highlight reel.
First up, stop treating your brain like a dial up modem constantly overloaded and lagging behind.
You need to actively learn how to manage the information tsunami hitting you every second.
That means ditching the constant doom scrolling and prioritizing real life connections.
Seriously, put down that phone and talk to a human.
They're way more interesting and less likely to judge your awkward dance moves.
Second, emotional awareness is your superpower, not some mystical unicorn thing. Pay attention to those feelings, even the uncomfortable ones.
Are you feeling anxious?
Stressed? Super chill?
Just being aware of what's going on inside helps you make conscious decisions instead of reacting like a robot programmed to overthink everything.
Now here's the real talk. Ignoring your emotions is like trying to pretend a broken leg isn't there. It doesn't magically fix itself, so find healthy ways to express those feelings. Journaling, art therapy, ranting to your best friend, whatever works for you.
You don't have to be a poet or an artist to process your emotions.
Just get that out there.
Third, negativity is like that annoying song stuck in your head. Catchy but ultimately draining.
Challenge those negative thoughts and reframe them into something positive instead of I can't do this, try. This is challenging, but I'm gonna figure it out.
Remember, you're not defined by your failures. You're defined by how you bounce back from them.
Fourth, self care isn't just bubble baths and face masks though those are amazing.
It's about prioritizing your well being physically, mentally and emotionally.
Get enough sleep, eat nourishing food, move your body and engage in activities that bring you joy. Think of it like charging your phone.
If you're constantly draining it without recharging, it's gonna crash sooner or later.
And finally, remember, you are not alone in this journey.
We're all figuring things out together, so be kind to yourself, practice self compassion and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
Speaking of real life situations, ever been on a social media deep dive and suddenly feel like everyone else is living their best life while you're just stuck in your messy room?
You know that feeling, right? That's those comparison traps trying to pull you down. Remember, what you see online is often curated and filtered.
People rarely share the struggles behind the scenes.
So instead of comparing yourself, focus on celebrating your own wins, big or small.
Alright Gen Z, recap time.
Understand your thoughts, feel your emotions, express them healthily, challenge negativity, practice self care and ditch those comparison traps.
You got this.
Go out there and rock your day.
