[00:00:00] Speaker A: Yo, yo yo, what's up my fellow zombies? Riley Hart here. Your daily dose of reality wit a side of caffeine.
Today we're tackling something I know you're all tired of hearing about.
Morning routines.
Yeah, yeah, I get it. The whole rise and grind thing is overused. But hear me out.
We're not talking about some basic ass influencer routine with matcha lattes and sunrise yoga. Unless that's your vibe, then go off.
This is for the real deal. The people who hits news five times before dragging themselves out of bed like a sloth on Monday morning.
Let's be honest, you're Gen Z or running on low battery. Most days you're juggling school side hustles, relationships and trying to figure out what to do with your life while simultaneously conquering the Internet.
That means you need a morning routine that actually works, not some Pinterest worthy fairy tale.
So strap in because I'm about to drop five game changing tits for a morning routine that will have you feeling less like a zombie and more like the freakin superhero you are. Because let's face it, we are all superheroes in our own way.
1. Ditch the snooze button. Seriously, stop hitting that snooze button like your life depends on it.
Every time you do, your body gets confused and it messes with your sleep cycle.
This leads to more grogginess throughout the day, which is the last thing we need. Instead, when that alarm goes off, get up.
Even if it's just for a few minutes. Stand up, stretch, do some jumping jacks, anything to get your blood flowing and wake your brain up.
Trust me, once you start feeling that energy surge, you'll be less likely to want to crawl back into bed.
2. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
Remember that time you went to Coachella and forgot your water bottle? Yeah. Don't do that to yourself. Every morning when you wake up, your body is dehydrated from the night before.
Drinking a big glass of water helps rehydrate your cells and kickstarts your metabolism.
It also helps improve focus and clarity, which is crucial when you're trying to navigate your morning chaos. And let's be real, life is pretty chaotic most days.
Number three. Fuel your body right? Except the sugary cereal or processed breakfast scrap. Unless that's your guilty pleasure. No judgment.
You need a breakfast that will actually fuel your body and keep you going.
Think protein packed eggs, avocado toast with some good quality fat Greek yogurt with berry sweets that give you sustained energy and keep those hunger Pangs at bay number four, Move your body. Don't worry. I'm not saying you need to go for a marathon or do a full CrossFit workout first thing in the morning.
Even 10, 15 minutes of lie exercise can make a huge difference.
Try a quick yoga flow, a brisk walk around the block, or even just some jumping jacks.
Getting your body moving helps release endorphins, which are those feel good hormones that boost your mood and energy levels.
It's basically like hitting the reset button for your brain and body.
And lastly, number five, prioritize mindfulness.
Take a few minutes each morning to just chill out, meditate, journal, or just sit in silence and focus on your breath.
This helps clear your mind, reduce stress, and set the tone for a more positive day.
You know that feeling when you're super stressed and you can't think straight? Yeah. Well, mindfulness is like the antidote to that.
Okay, real talk time. Picture this. It's Monday morning, right? You hit snooze, like five times. We all do it.
Stumble out of bed, grab whatever sugary cereal is at the bottom of the cupboard, and then rush out the door feeling completely frazzled.
Sound familiar? Yeah. That's not a recipe for success.
Now picture this.
You wake up feeling fresh and energized. You have a delicious breakfast that actually fuels your body. You do some quick stretches to get your blood flowing, and you take a few minutes to just chill out before starting your day.
See the difference? This is what a morning routine that actually works looks like.
It's not about being perfect. It's about making small changes that add up to big results.
Trust me, once you start incorporating these tips into your daily routine, you'll be surprised how much of a difference it makes.
Okay, so remember, ditch the snooze button. Hydrate, fuel your body, right? Move your body and prioritize mindfulness.
Stop hitting pause on your life. Wake up and own it. Now go forth and conquer your day, my amazing Gen Z warriors.
