Today we're tackling something real, something raw, something that hits hard. Self Love versus Self Criticism. Raise your hand if you've ever caught yourself in the mirror looking like a walking Pinterest. Fail. Yeah, me too. We live in this world where comparison is literally built into our thumbs. Scrolling through perfectly curated lies on Insta and TikTok, it's easy to get sucked into that vortex of not good enough. But guess what? That noise? That's bs. We gotta start prioritizing self love over the constant beatdown we dish ourselves. Think about it. You wouldn't trash talk your best friend like you sometimes trash talk yourself, right? So why subject yourself to that level of negativity? We deserve better fam. And trust me, this isn't some fluffy be kind to yourself thing. It's about building a foundation of genuine self acceptance and using that to fuel your fire. It's not about being narcissistic or ignoring your flaws. It's about recognizing your worth beyond those perceived imperfections. Here's the There are five key things you gotta do to ditch the Inner critic and level up your self love game. 1. Recognize the voice Ever feel like that little naggy voice in your head is always raining on your parade? That's your Self critic. It whispers doubts, amplifies insecurities, and loves to play the what if game. The first step is acknowledging it's there. It doesn't mean you have to argue with it, just be aware of its presence. Kinda like that annoying pop song you can't get out of your head. You know it's there, but you don't have to dance to it. 2. Challenge those thoughts. The Self Critic thrives on negativity. So when you catch yourself thinking I'm not good enough or this is a total fail, hit that thought with a dose of reality. Ask is this truly factual? Are there other ways to look at the situation? Remember, your inner monologue isn't always accurate. It's often just replaying old tits or insecurities from your past. 3. Practice self compassion. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding you would offer a good friend. You wouldn't tell your bestie they're worthless after a bad day, right? So why do that to yourself? Give yourself permission to make mistakes, learn from them and move on. Remember, everyone messes up sometimes. It's part of being human. Number four Focus on your strengths. We all have unique talents and abilities. Take time to celebrate those things that make you awesome. It could be anything from your killer sense of humor to your knack for solving problems. When you focus on your strengths, you shift the energy away from self doubt and build a stronger sense of self worth. Number five. Celebrate your wins, big or small. Acknowledge your achievements. Finish that project. Nailed that presentation. But through another day without losing your mind, give yourself a high five. Celebrating your victories reinforces positive self talk and keeps you motivated to keep pushing forward. Okay, picture this. You're scrolling through social media comparing your life to everyone else's highlight reels. Suddenly, the inner critic starts chirping in your ear, telling you that you are not good enough, not pretty enough, or not successful enough. Sound familiar? Now imagine silencing that voice and replacing it with a mantra of self love. I am worthy. I am capable. I am strong. It's a game changer. Remember, fam, this is a journey, not a race. There will be days when the self critic wins, but don't give up. Keep practicing. Self compassion. Celebrate your wins and remember that you are worthy of love and happiness just as you are.
